Aim

AimPresentation and discussion of clinical cases on the basis of physiological mechanisms.

General teaching goals

Revisiting physiological mechanisms through the prism of pathology. Teaching physiological mechanisms that underlie the pathophysiological cases presented.

 

Course content

General:

Case 1: Neck injury caused by a swimming accident.
Case 2: Intermittent vomiting.
Case 3: High pressures at sea
Case 4: Breathing difficulty after an insect bite and air travel.
Case 5: Infertility in a female athlete.
Case 6: Narrow shoes and restless sleep.
Case 7: Pharyngodynia and oedema.
Case 8: Smoker’s dyspnoea.
Case 9: Chest pain and exercise.
Case 10: Fatigue and delayed maturation.
Case 11: Penetrating chest trauma.
Case 12: I turned yellow.
Case 13: A series of “interesting conversions”.
Case 14:Four weeks at high altitude.
Case 15: Two cases of chronic fatigue.
Case 16: A footballer with a painful knee.
Case 17: Running the marathon in the tropics.
Case 18: Crush injury and blood loss.
Case 19: Weakness, increased BW and bruising.
